Leela – The Divine Dance of Love
My work is a fusion of emotion, mythology, and movement, drawing from rich Indian heritage while embracing contemporary expression. With my fascination with the interplay of light, femineity, and cosmic energy, I use art as a medium to tell stories of strength, transcendence, and inner radiance. Growing up in India, surrounded by vibrant cultural narratives and intricate art, I was inspired by the divine feminine, celestial beings, and nature's unspoken wisdom. I work toward bridging the creation of a visual language where mythology, personal introspection, and human emotion come together. I examine the idea of transformation—spiritual, emotional, and cosmic. I explore themes of divine power, resilience, and self-discovery through symbolic representation of light, nature, and celestial figures. Women in my paintings represent quiet strength, illuminated by inner radiance and surrounded by elements that speak connection with the universe in the vast expanse of the night sky. Each stroke, texture, and color choice reflect the delicate balance between fragility and power, beauty, and the seen and the unseen.
I have worked with acrylic, oil, and pencil art, blending these mediums to create depth, contrast, and emotion. My process is deeply tactile, using both brushes and my hands to manipulate the paint, allowing instinct and movement to shape the final piece. This direct connection with canvas brings raw, organic energy to my work. The fluidity of oil allows me to create smooth, dreamlike transitions, while acrylic provides vibrancy and structure. Pencil work adds intricate details, giving a sense of delicacy and realism amidst abstract elements. I use my hands acts as a tool and extension of my emotion, letting me blend, smudge, and sculpt the paint in a deeply personal and expressive way.
