Aquarius’s Sonata
My name is Phu Nguyen. I am an artist who originated in Atlanta, Georgia. I currently reside and study at Florida State University as an MFA Studio Art student. I love exploring the themes of consciousness and the mystical side of our modern or ancient societies. As an artist, the thing that drives me is to offer my viewer a glimpse of a vision of the breaking down of spaces and time, of symbolism and representation. My current medium of expression is oil painting. This medium is full of traditions and history. Moreover, it has the property for me to smooth the transition of painting due to the excellent gradient blending effect.
Artwork Description:
Aquarius Sonata is a part of my series, "Equilibria." The series is about finding the balance between the forms and the abstract. In this case, form refers to what humans understand, while the abstract is the unseen forces around us. The human figure is the form we recognize, resting among abstract shapes. Aquarius is the zodiac constellation representing the return of knowledge, pointing to my struggle to find the exact balance within my life as a human with limited understanding and the need to see the grand cosmos around me.
