My work seeks to highlight the beauty of nature through capturing moments in nature, creating organic forms, and exploring the elements and textures in nature. Through a process-based practice, I use ceramics and photography to create an experience for viewers where they can pause and be present in the moment. I achieve this by playing with scale in my photography prints and manipulating natural forms and texture in ceramic sculptures and vases. Through all my mediums I find myself in a meditative flow when creating work. I would like the viewer to feel a similar way when viewing my art. I am particularly interested in textures, water, and light in nature. For my work now and going forward I seek to emphasize the beauty of human experience nature allows us to have and the extraordinary power our relationship with our senses has on our perception of the world.
